Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have pcos and doctor prescribed me contraceptive pills...am having heavy periods after i stopped contraceptive pills mid pack because i was getting shortness of breath... now my bleeding is heavy.. how can i regularise it?.. can i take deviry or should i start contraceptive pill again?
It is probably the breakthrough bleeding and you could bleed for two weeks and there is no way to control it.
As you are under treatment from a gynecologist, thus she must have taken due consideration in taking up your case history, thus remain under her regular supervision and observation, as to how to proceed further, I at most can let you know about the symptom wise approach: - Check with TVS [trans vaginal sonography] and pap smear test. - Check your Hb%, WBC, Bleeding disorder profile, Thyroid Function Test.
Regarding your present complaint of heavy bleeding, you can take medicine like Tranexamic acid, 3 times a day for 3 to 5 days and If it does not work, you can take a high dose of progesterone to stop the bleeding after consulting with your Gynecologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Munish Sood
