Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have hemorrhoid issues and was told to use Preparation H which I have been doing. However, a few months ago I had an episode of A-Fib and have been under the care of a cardiologist who put me on Eliquis for stroke prevention. The problem here is that my hemorrhoids are bleeding off and on. I don t know if this is normal or if something else could be going on. Should I be concerned with this spotty bleeding?
Some advices that I can give to you are: -Apply an over-the-counter hemorrhoid cream or suppository containing hydrocortisone. - Use pads containing witch hazel or a numbing agent. -Soak regularly in a warm bath or sitz bath. Soak your anal area in plain warm water 10 to 15 minutes two to three times a day.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
