I know I have a hernia. I also know I have a ulcer. I can’t get any help with what to do! I’ve said I want an upper GI done due to the burning and throwing up. I have severe pain right now. I just seen a surgeon who “will get back to me tomorrow about what we can do about the burning I have. I asked for pain control before I left. Nothing take Tylenol! I went to ER on thanksgiving day and had a CT scan. It shows a hernia with “cysts” on the right side. Yet, the surgeon says I don’t have one. “Hernia” I can feel It. And the burning is out of control. I do not want to go to the ER. They won’t run the propper scan. UPPER GI! They will keep running CT! Please help!!
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, CT scan reports and examination finding may be shared with a general surgeon as surgical correction is only reliable solution for hernia treatment however small hernias may be left for medical and supportive therapy. Meanwhile antacids like omperazole before meals and motility agents like domperidone can be used.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Regards
