How Can Hiatal Hernia Be Treated?

I have a small hiatal hernia, I feel full for hours after eating, as many as 8-10 hours. I eat very small meals and often only eat once or twice a day. Very often less than 1500 calories. I do have a thyroid issue and can not lose an ounce. I track everything and measure everything. At what point might this become a serious issue?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The treatment of a hiatal hernia is surgery because that is a problem of organs to come out from abnormal opening or weakened opening.

So, it became serious if it strangulates and blood supply is compromised. A hiatal hernia mainly causes acid reflux.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
