How Can High Blood Pressure During A Pregnancy Be Controlled?

My daughter is 32 and ahalf weeks pregnan with twins. Her bloodpressure started rising 4 weeks ago. She is on meds but the dosage had to be doubled a few weeks ago. It seemed to helped the first day or two and is now higher again 150/100. Dr will check on her again on Friday. No protein in urine. would she and the babies be fine?

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion high BP is one of the complication associated with twin pregnancy.High BP might be associated with abruption placenta, growth retardation of fetus(IUGR) etc.The fetal distress can be monitored with Doppler and ultrasound weekly or two weekly. If there is severe IUGR with uncontrolled BP then pregnancy needs to be terminated in the interest of mother and fetus. But simple high BP without proteinuria might not cause severe complications.High protein diet is suggested.
