How Can High Blood Pressure While On Rifampicin Be Treated?

I started taking Rifampin 3 days ago and now my blood pressure is really high and I have a really bad salty tast in my mouth. I take Diliatzem Hcl 180mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg for my high blood pressure. My question is what should I do, should I take them today?

Rifampicin is an antitubercular drug for the treatment of tuberculosis. It will not cause your blood pressure to rise.
Taking into account the medications you have mentioned it seems that you are already on treatment for high blood pressure. Diltiazem however is used to primarily control the heart rate in conditions where it may be very high such as tachyarrhyrhmias.
I would advise you to continue treatment with rifampicin since it is an important part of the anti tubercular drug regimen.
Please consult your health provider for your high blood pressure. You may need a change or modification in the medication.
Regards,
