Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just got back lab results showing a high blood sugar count (126) ... Is there any other possible cause for this other than pre-diabetes? (I am thin and exercise regularly so I don t fit the picture for a pre-diabetic.) Thanks for your help. I eat well (do not eat lactose or gluten...seem to be intolerant of them.) Joann
Blood sugar of 126 is a little bit high but a single test result is not diagnostic, so you need to repeat the test in fasting state and 2 hours after food. Also it is not always true that diabetes occurs in obese only, it can occur in thin person also.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ramchandra Lamba
