Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 94 year old mother has been diagnosed with high sugar level. She is not diabetic but they are recommending a change in her diet. She is 5 feet tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. What is the recommended number of grams of daily carb intake for her?
Most of the time, high blood sugar level in blood can be controlled by just managing the diet as you were suggested for your mother. According to her height and weight, she is obese and therefore reducing her weight would be of great help to control blood sugar level.
Get here blood sugar regularly checked. Around 300 grams of carbohydrate is needed ideally for a person/day.
Thanks
