How Can High Cholesterol And Low Sex Drive Be Treated?

My husband is 52 years old and just had a physical. Doctor said he was healthy except his cholesterol was a little high so he was put on meds. His sexual desire was low even before he started his meds. What foods are good to help his desire come back?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
High cholesterol can be countered by taking medications like 'statins, namely 'Atorvastatin', which has cholesterol-lowering effect. Your doctor must have given it and let your husband take it as suggested.
Gradually, his sex drive should also be back to normal, but it might take about 3 to 6 months.
However, you can include the following foods in the diet regularly to increase the sex drive.
1. Vegetables like Spinach, Peppers, Garlic and Ginger.
2. Fruits and dry fruits like Watermelon, Pomegranate, Berries, Banana, Saffron, Almonds, Dates and Figs.
3. Desserts like Warm milk, Green tea, Oysters, Red wine and Dark chocolate.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
Regards,
