How Can High Cholesterol Levels Be Treated?

I used Zocor for several years without any side affects. I had to stop taking it because of the price. I took Simvastatin for about 7 or 8 years and then begin having muscle pain. I stopped taking it about 8 or 9 months ago, but I still have higher than normal cholesterol numbers. I would like to try Zocor again, what do you think? Iam a woman 76 yrs old. In pretty good health

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Well, you can take Zocor again if blood lipids and cholesterol cant be managed with dietary changes. This will not be harmful and may be only beneficial regardless of age. Zocor may also have some side effects but these are generally less significant than those that simvastatin has. Also, some other medications such as atorvastatine may be considered if this price is too high. Of course, dont forget dietary measures and move enough.
I am sure that right solution will be found.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.

Wishing you good health.
