How Can High Fever Be Treated?

I have had the doctor thinks either euro influennza or trachitis for past 6 days..fever wont go down for long goes back up at night..bad productive cough and feel absolutely wiped out..question how do i getthe temp to stay down and not keep going back up? In first few nights it was 38.7 celsius now it sits arounfd 37.5 during day and up to 37.8 at night

Coming to your symptoms, low grade fever and productive cough generally occur in many conditions. Most common conditions are respiratory tract infection. It can be bacterial or viral.

By seeing your complaints, the most probable cause might be bacterial infection. It can be confirmed by following investigations:

1. X-ray chest
2. Complete blood picture
3. Sputum examination
4. Serum electrolytes

Coming to treatment part, you can follow the below:

1. Antibiotics
2. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug
3. Plenty of fluids
4. Avoid exposure to dust
