How Can High Fever Be Treated?

I have had the doctor thinks either euro influennza or trachitis for past 6 days..fever wont go down for long goes back up at night..bad productive cough and feel absolutely wiped out..question how do i getthe temp to stay down and not keep going back up? In first few nights it was 38.7 celsius now it sits arounfd 37.5 during day and up to 37.8 at night
