How Can High Fever, Sore Throat, Runny Nose And Headache Be Treated?
Hi, I am a university student who just got hit by a bad fever, I cant study as well because of my high temperature, runny nose, sore throat and headache. I have a few tests coming up in the next few days and I would like to be as healthy as possible and as soon as possible. Any suggestions?
Hello, Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic! I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
All the symptoms you have mentioned suggestive of pharyngitis(inflammation of your throat) along with rhinitis/common cold. You don't need to worry regarding this as it is highly curable and chances for complications are very less.
I suggest you to consult a general practitioner and get the following things done:- (1)- You can take simple analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever and pain. (2)- A short course of antibiotic therapy for five to seven days is needed. (3)- Antihistamines like levocetrezine would provide symptomatic relief. (4)- Do warm saline gargles or gargling with a numbing mouth wash. (5)- Nasal decongestants like xylometazoline can be tried for blocked nostrils. Hope I have answered your query. Regards. Dr.Shinas
