How Can Hip Labral Tear Be Treated?

Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with a labral tear in my right hip. My surgeon has suggested that I will need surgery this year. I do not want to get surgery so soon. My hip does not hurt, and the only symptom I have is a catching sensation every now and then when the hip is in a certain position. What are your thoughts?

Hello,

Yes, you should definitely get it operated. The hip joint is a major weight-bearing joint and also involves in a great range of mobility.

Ligamental injury in the hip joint if not treated can lead to immobilization and osteoarthritis of a hip joint.

These will lead to painful limping of a hip joint. And for this, hip replacement is the only option.

So better to get done surgery at present rather have bigger surgery afterwards.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
