Hello,

Lisinopril is a very good drug for hypertension and studies find that it increases lifespan better compared to amlodipine.

On the other hand, your husband might need to check his creatinine before starting it and within one week of starting Lisinopril.

This is because in some cases with kidney problems Lisinopril can increase creatinine and in this cases, it should be stopped.

If it does not increase creatinine then it is a superior drug to take for hypertension in patients with chronic kidney disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
