Hello, Thanks for the query.
If your TSH is as high as 150 mU/L, means you have very severe
hypothyroidism. This causes all the symptoms like feeling lethargic, weight gain, tiredness, anxiety, depression, slow
heart rate, muscle and
joint pains, dry skin, dry hair and hair fall. There can be swelling of face and lower limbs too. In some low sex drive is also seen.
Therefore, it is necessary for you to start tretment with
levothyroxine tablets, dosage has to be based on TSH, T4 values, body weight and height. But looking at your TSH value you may have to begin with 50 mcg, then check TSH after 6 to 8 weeks to see if the desired level is reached (3 to 4 mU/L). If TSH is still high then dose has to be further increased by about 25 to 50 mcg per day. Plus you will have to avoid soy beans, soy containing products. Consume more of reen leafy vegetables, salads and fruits.. Exercise daily for at least 1 hour so as to prevent weight gain.
There is no need to test
testosterone now. Thanks.
