Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Respected Sir/Madam my wife missed periods regular date of period is 23 but no periods till today ie.01.02.2018, we hav consult to doctor , and she suggest to take GESTOFOL PLUS TABLET and PROGESTERONE SUSTAINED RELESE TABLETS 200mg. My wife is suffering from hypo thyroid problem .plz suggest me that above treatment is ok or we go for another doctor for 2nd opinion
Is she taking any medications? As of now the above mentioned treatment is fine.
But There are many reasons for Irregular periods like Pregnancy, PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease), thyroid problems et cetera. As you mentioned your wife have hypothyroid issues, it may also be a reason for irregular periods.
It is advisable to take T.Eltroxin medicine OD (every morning in empty stomach) and my suggestion is to do a Thyroid profile (Free T3, Free T4, TSH) and refer a physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Indhu Priyadharshini
