How Can Ichthyosis Vulgaris Be Treated?

Hi I am 24 years female suffured with ichthyosis vulgaris,my mother also having same .my skin is very dry ,scalp arms- legs- back of body and hyperlinear palms with seems wrinkled also from childhood.I was also taken treatment in childhood but not get any solution.after applying lotions and oils my skin doesn t have hydrating.so, sir I want to know have any solution for to get soft skin ,or there is no treatment for this.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Sorry to say but there is no permanent cure for icthyosis vulgaris. Newer treatment options like botox injection, newer steroid creams etc should be tried to see for any improvement. You need to drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Take more of anti oxidant and vitamin rich fruits.
