Hello doctor , i have a relative which she had a same problem ptb, right apex. My concern it that ,does she have chances of getting rid the lung scars and is it true that the effectivity of oral supplement of vit d will help eradicate and restructure of lung tissues leading to no scars at all. Thank u and Godbless
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Your relative is having post tubercular Scar lesion in lung. Tubercular lesion after treatment heals by fibrosis and calcification. These scars are permanent. They are life long. They are inactive so no treatment is required. Vitamin D is not helpful in removing scars. So I don't think it will help your relative in removing Scar. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your relative. Thanks.
