Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Shortness of breath can be side effect of Eqliquis. But it is rare. Consult your doctor regarding this. Nausea, easy bruising, or minor bleeding (such as nosebleed, bleeding from cuts) are common side effects of Eliquis. A very serious
allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get
medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat),
severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
Coming to treatment of
idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
The treatment for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis depends upon the stage of the disease, and usually begins with medical treatment, supportive measures, and possibly surgical
transplantation of the lungs. Often, during the mild to moderate disease medical care is initiated. However, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis sometimes progresses rapidly, so if idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is diagnosed, a transplant surgeon should be consulted early as the person with IPF may eventually require
lung transplant.
1. Pirfenidone and Nintedanib are drugs used to treat IPF.
2. Anti-acid medications are recommended even in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis patients without symptoms of reflux.
3. Quit smoking
4. vaccination against influenza and pneumococcal infections.
5. It is suggested patients with hypoxemia (low oxygen in the blood, for example, pulse Oximetry measured less than 88%) to use oxygen therapies to maintain a saturation at least 90% during all activities, including sleeping.
6. Lung transplantation is considered when the patient develops severe stage (also termed end stage) idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Hope I have answered your query.
