How Can Immobility In The Right Arm After A Stroke Be Treated?
My 42 year old girlfriend had a stroke 2 years ago and got some rehab in the hosp, but their insurance ran out and she didn t get any further rehab. She has no use of her right arm, sdhe can t she other than yes and she can t read anymore and she can t speak. want to know if she can get further treatment, can she be helped any more? I want to help her but don t know where to start. /we live in Menifee Ca, can you please tell me where to start?
I am sorry to hear about his disabilities. Stroke can leave people with certain impairments generally. Many people improve, but all that is needed is physiotherapy and rehabilitation. However, few people may be left with permanent disabilities. If any improvement has to occur in this case that should have happened much earlier. If it didn't occur in 2 years it's unlikely to occur now. But still, best care should be given that can be done at home.
Hope I have answered your question. I will be glad to answer any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
