Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my 33 month old son was dianosed with laryngomalacia and had supraglotoplasty at nine months old. After the surgery he regressed in speech and walked at 18 months. However, he has improved tremendously with speech therapy, he still is somewhat delayed in speech. he has great social skills, easily transitioned, and relate well to others. The psychologist thinks he has minimal symptoms of autism, as his mother I thinks as his speech improved he will be fine. Please advice!
Continue speech therapy, don’t ever stop it. Even if he has autism, who is to say he won’t lead a normal life. People with autism have been very successful so please relax.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
