How Can Inflammation And Swelling On The Palm After An Injury Be Treated?
i went climbing at a climbing gym and broke open a callous on the palm side of my pinky finger two days ago. Today it became red and very swollen. You can definately see a fluid build up underneath the skin. it is in the middle area of the palm side pinky. I soaked with Epson salt tonight. Any other recommendations? How long should I treat this myself? What symptoms should I watch for that would tell me to see a physician? Is it best to cover or leave uncovered? Does antibiotic ointment help? Thank you for your time
There is no need for antibiotics. Leave it uncovered if there is no abrasion and skin damage. You should use NSAIDs which improve pain and swelling about five days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
