Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Insect Bite On The Hands And Legs Be Treated?
I got bit 7 times by something Friday around 3pm. They started out as dime size bites. Now they are bigger than the palm of my hand. The skin is tight and warm. Only the bullet looking part in the center is hard and they itch super bad but feel like a mild bruise. The bullet was pretty light pink to start with and 50 hrs later it is now super red and tiny purple dot on a few of the bites. Should I be concerned? Could this be a allergic reaction to masquito bites? I m not sure what it was that bit me. We were at the park and zoo when i noticed the bites. Do you think I would be taking a risk of loosing my legs if I don t go to the ER right now? Or do you think I d be fine to get an apt in the clinic in the morning?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It looks like a tick bite. As of now apply ice packs over the bite site and take Pheniramine tablets for allergic reactions. Better to consult a doctor as tick bite may cause some health issues.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
