Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have several bite marks from possible a mosquito in thailand, some are very red with a slightly yellow looking centre, I have been given some Elomet Cream from a pharmacy but wondered if this was the right course of action, I have had bites before but these are a very deep red one or two almost looking like a small bruise
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You can take antihistamines like Phemramine or Bemedryl. Elomet is Mometasone and it is soft steroid and it’s quite effective for insect bite reaction. You can continue Elomet along with antihistamines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
