How Can Insomnia Be Treated While On Treatment For Thyroid Dysfunction?
I am having problems sleeping because of my Thyroid medication. November my doctor raised my Thyroid meds from 60-65 mg to 90mg. Before the increase I was using 1 Lorazepam 1mg,1 3mg Eszopclone 2 50mg Diphenhydramine HLC and 1 100mg Trazodone HCL with these pills I was able to get to sleep, one to two after taking the pills and only be able 4 hours 6 If I take another Trazodone. After increasing the dosage to 90mg I was only able 2 to 3 hours if at all.

How Can Insomnia Be Treated While On Treatment For Thyroid Dysfunction?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I think you should take a smaller dose of Levothyroxine based on your hormone levels. You can use a higher dose of Lorazepam to cope with insomnia. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
