How Can Insomnia While On Escitalopram Be Treated?
I have been prescribed 10mg escitalopram for menopause symptoms with anxiety, I take the tablets of a morning. I go off to sleep each evening but I am waking in the early hours with my mind racing and then unable to go back to sleep. My doctor has prescribed hydroxyzine 25mg in order to keep a sleep. After reading the information leaflet it states not to take these two together. What shall I do ? Please advise

SSRI (escitalopram) can cause insomnia. Regarding hydroxyzine, this is not generally advised with other antidepressant like tricyclic or MAO inhibitors because the antimuscarinic effects may be more , howe've it's not a bid issue when using i depressant SSRI like escitalopram. So I don't think you should worry a lot. You can use the drugs.
