How Can Intestinal Parasite Infestation Be Treated?
I have tapeworms or roundworms.. I was prescribed only 2 pills taken in 1 dose of Albenza 200mg..and took it a week and a half ago.. I am still passing them.. how long will this continue or do I need a second dose?.. I started a 15day cleanse 3 days ago..
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You should know that tapeworms has a different treatment from roundworms. Tapeworm infections are usually treated with Praziquantel (Biltricide). But, common treatments for a roundworm infection include Mebendazole or Albendazole (Albenza) as you have done. If you continue to pass them you should do again a stool for parasite and repeat the treatment according your doctor advise.
I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.
