How Can Iron Deficiency During Pregnancy Be Treated?

Wife is 27 yrs old and pregnant ( gestational pregnancy 5.5 weeks and conception happened 3 weeks ago). She has been taking orofer xt ( 1.1 mg folate and 100 mg iron supplement) since 3 days. She had iron Deficiency 3 years ago. Does she need to take any other suplements

Hello,

No, that would be sufficient. In women, anemia occurs due to menstrual blood loss monthly plus dietary deficiency. In general iron demand increases during pregnancy. So we advise iron supplementation to each and every pregnant female.
