How Can Irritable Bowel Syndrome Be Treated?

Hi Doc I have IBS and always have a feel of going to the motion post eating . I would be ok if I take Rifagut 400 tab course. But is it advisable to take this course of medications at least twice a month for 5 days . Otherwise I always face this motion problem everywhere

Rifagut (Rifaximin) is usually prescribed at 550 mg dose thrice daily for 2 weeks. 400 mg dose courses are also tried but not yet standardised. Your description lacks the details of the course taken by you.
The standard 550 mg dose can be repeated for 2 times if the symptoms recur. Taking Rifagut twice a month for 5 days for indefinite period is not advisable. Please take the medication as prescribed by your consultant.
