I have jock itch problem which started like 3 months ago.I did not think it was a disease in the starting I thought its just normal itching so I did not go to any doctor.But then it became serious when the itch started spreading from inner thighs to hips.I visited a doctor who gave me some pills and a terbinafine cream.The course was of 5 days which over but there is no improvement in the itch.Its irresistible and burns afterbathing for a few minutes.Can you let me know about getting away from this disease.Thanks
Hello dear I understand your concern Your symptoms could be due to jock itch. Jock itch is due to fungal infection. It is usually recurrent and itchy. KOH mount help to confirm the fungus etiology by consulting dermatologist.
Treatment is oral and topical antifungal drug. Tablet terbinafine once daily in the morning You can try sertaconazole cream on the affected areas twice daily. Tablet levocterizine bedtime Keep the area clean and dry, avoid sharing soap and towel, stay in cool environment. Take the above treatment for 3-4 week under the observation of your dermatologist.
