How Can Itching In The Ears Be Treated?

What is good for an itchy ear? I have tried putting Neomycin and Polymyxin B Sulfates in my ear canal plus putting Fluocinonide Topical Solution in my ear and it is still itchy. I have an appointment with the ENT but not until August 8th. Please help me.

I understand your concern.

Simple itching in ear can be due to ear wax or allergies.If the itching is associated with pain in ear ,it can be due to external ear fungal infection.
In case of wax problem,soliwax ear drops 2 drops three times a day for 2-3 days can be used.
If there is suspicion of otitis externa,
-Topical eardrops containing combination of antibiotics[cipro 0.3%,polymyxin B] with steroid can be used for 5-7 days.If symptoms persists,oral antibiotics can be given for 10-14 days under precription.
-Oral cetrizine for itching and relief from allergy if any once a day for 3 days.
-Avoid removing wax by cotton buds.Keep ear dry.
Get examined by ENT surgeon as early as possible if symptoms persists beyond 3 days.
