General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

If all you are experiencing is an itch and not other symptoms like increased urge to pass urine, burning sensation while urinating, increased frequency of urination, etc; then you should be treated for the itch (more likely to be of fungal origin), and not for a UTI. Please discuss your symptoms in detail with your doctor, and also request for a urine analysis to help reach a more accurate diagnosis.

Best wishes.
