How Can Itching In The Groin Area Be Treated?

I am having a very uncomfortable feeling in my private parts. Extreme itching to the point I have scratched until it hurts. I can feel nerve ending shooting pain. I went to doctor before and they said it looked like a lack of estrogen and prescribed a cream. They gave me one refill. I read this ointment can cause cancer. Is there another solution? I am so uncomfortable right now

Hello,

As a first line management, you can try drugs like cetirizine for symptomatic relief. Most probably it could be a neuropathic itching.

If symptoms persist, better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
