How Can Itching On The Head Due To Shingles Be Treated?

I have shingles on my head in my hair. They go from the base of my neck to the top of my head To my left ear on the outside. They are becoming very itchy. I am not sure if it is the shampoo not getting rinsed out completely or the shingles scabs. How long until I can scrub my head to relieve the itchiness? Is there anything I can put on the itchiness?

Hello,

I do not think extra rubbing will help you with shingles. They need treatment with anti viral medications and need long term treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashok Kumar, Psychiatrist
