Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a bug bite on my neck and have had it for nearly a week. It gets itchier and larger each daymand today had a small white centre almost like a white head. The area round is also slightly red. I try to avoid scratching it and have put polysporin on it today. Any advice on treatment and any idea what may have bitten me? I live in Toronto, Canada.
As per your complain it seems that you have go infection in the area of bug bite as a lump with white centre can be due to pus formation secondary to infection..
I would suggest you to consult a Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can be done..
You can be advised topical application of Triple antibiotic ointment along with oral antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkillers.. If there is excessive itching it can be due to effect of the toxin and you need to take anti allergics like Levocetrizine for relief..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
