How Can Itchy Hives All Over The Body Be Treated?

I have developed what looks like hives or very large bite marks on my back, abdomen and buttock. they are extremely itchy and have been spreading. They started as what looked like 2 large hives. Now it has spread around to my front and down my buttock and front towards my vagina. The original spots are now crusted over but I seem to get at least 2 - 4 more spots every day. It has been five days. Can you tell me what it may be? I thought they might be shingles. Thank you Michele King

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history, you are suffering from Urticaria.

My treatment advice is:
1. Avoid fast food and food with artificial colors for 2 months.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.

If the problem persists, then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
