Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Itchy Rashes On The Lower Legs Be Treated?
I dry-shaved my lower legs Christmas 2015 and a rash appeared on both legs. My PCP suggested I see a Dermatologist. I allowed the rash to persist until August 2016 when I saw a Dermatologist. The Dermatologist prescribed a topical treatment (Fluocinonide Ointment USP, 0.05%). The elevated rash dissipated after my two week return visit to the new doctor however the itchy redness remains on the right leg! Any suggestions?
It seems that you had developed eczema which has not completely subsided. I would advise you to continue the same ointment for a few more days.
Avoid using any harsh soaps and avoid using any razors or chemicals from a few days. If you are not relieved in a week's time then you should consult your dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Nazma.amman,
