How Can Jaundice In A Premature Infant Be Treated?

My baby is premature born on 34+1 weeks. He is less than 2 kg. He has been detected with jaundice 10. He has problems sucking my breasts. Doc adviced Dexolac. Will it work? Can it provide nutrients of breastmilk. When will my baby achieve required weight?

Hi,

You can give him Dexolac infant (for 0 to 6 months) only not simply Dexolac.

Meanwhile, continue breastfeeding him as he improves sacking. You should expose him to sunlight as much as possible. If he doesn't get better go to the hospital.
