Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband was diagnosed with knee bursitis a month ago. It was drained he rested it two days and went back to work being a carpenter. 2 weeks ago he slammed the same leg in between the car door and frame. It is now swollen from his knee to his ankle , tight and quite warm to the touch. We ice it nightly but it isn t getting better. He can t bend his knee or barely lift his leg due to the swelling. Pain is 6 out of 10. Stubbing his foot shoots pain level way up. Thoughts?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Your husband will need some rest again. NSAIDs, Paracetamol and other painkillers available over the counter will help you. Using a pain killer gel is advisable. Keep a pillow under his knee during resting. Continue ice application. Extra case has to be taken during this time. Also, the type of shoes he is wearing will effect his knee.
Take care, Regards
