Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
bone on bone in knee... on the inside about on fourth across... so most of cartilage still there.... are there exercises I can do that would help put weight bearing onto the still remaining cartilage? will a shoe insert help to unload to the outside? I have looked at unloader braces also... and the chicken comb injections...
Osteoarthritis is an age related wear and tear and can be managed to an extent. As a first line of management you can take analgesics like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac. Also braces will help to some extent. If symptoms persist, knee replacement will be the only option left. You can consult an orthopedician and he will direct you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
