How Can Knee Pain And Burning Sensation On The Feet Be Treated?
I had a cortisone shot in my knee (Monday) and three hours I was in the worst pain, from the back of my knee to my ankle. Advil didn t make a dent in pain, Finally half of an oxyecodone eased it enough to sleep. Heat/cold helped some. Still have some pain, with a burning sensation around the ball of my foot. Any suggestions to help with pain/tightness? Thanks

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The cortisone shot in joint causes temporary in inflammation in the joint which causes pain&pressure on nerve supplying foot.
This would go automatically within 3-4days but the excessive trouble at present can be relieved by an anti-inflammatory drug like Nimesulide over the counter along with the effective pain medicine & hot/cold packs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
