Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am trying to help my roommate. He is 46 yrs old, has always worked very physical work i.e. laying flooring. He has suffered from chronic pain for 20+ years. He has large lumps on the muscles on his back. He cannot physically go to his knees. He goes so far and then drops. He does has very enlarged joints on his hands. His bones and muscles do not seem to move the way most peoples do. Always stiff and sore. Got into a bad cycle of taking huge amounts of Robax and acetaminophen which he doesn t do now. He had a massage this week and the therapist noted that his ribs don t move the way they should, how does he breath. He works very hard but it always hurts. Some mornings he has to roll out of bed because he cant move. He eats extreme amounts of ground beef and doesn t do dairy because of nose bleeds and does not like veggies except for onions, peppers, mushrooms and garlic.
I think your roommate needs a total check up, blood count and liver chemistry. The symptoms you are describing are those of arthritis and also fibromyalgia. He can visit a rheumatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
