How Can Laryngitis And Soreness On The Tongue Be Treated?
Hi. I recently had a condition that was diagnosed as acute bronchitis caused by unknown organism. I was given predisone, azithromycin and a bronchodilator. My sinus congestion has disappeared, but I still have cough and some chest congestion, and I now have laryngitis and a sore tongue that won t go away. This has been going on for nearly 3 weeks. I have had a chronic cough for years because of GERD.
You have symptoms of laryngitis and soreness on the tongue which seems to be due to acid reflux, nutritional deficiency of vitamin B12 and folic acid, stress, and it could be recurrent aphthous ulcers. Need not to worry. I would suggest you visit an oral physician once and get it examined. Go for blood and throat swab test once and start treatment accordingly. Take light food and do not lay on the bed immediately after having food. You can apply an ointment like Mucopain and you can take medicine like vitamin B12 supplements. Do soda bicarbonate gargles. Avoid intake of sharp and spicy foods.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
