Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I think I may have laryngitis from what it sounds like. I kind of need my voice and it s really hoarse, I also feel my neck is hard and inflamed and my voice is just dry..... I find myself coughing .... I have this about a week now, is it urgent to see a Dr. if it s not completely better? What s best to treat it?
If you have shouted a lot recently or talked for long hours repeatedly recently you may have developed what are called the 'singer's nodes' on your vocal chords. Otherwise there's nothing to worry. It may be some inflammation because of minor viral infection and will go away on its own. Warm saline gargles with a tablet of soluble aspirin in the glass of waster may help further.
