How Can Liver Cirrhosis Be Treated?

I have a friend that is an alcoholic and she has cirrhosis of the liver. She started puffiness in her face and now has ascites in her abdomen and refuses to go to the doctor. If she does nothing does her life expectancy decrease and what will happen next in the form of symptoms?
