How Can Low Grade Fever Be Treated?

son is taking 5mg hydrocodone due to a broken fibula sustained in football game last night. we hope to see orthopedic on Monday. He now has low grade fever of 101 - can he take other medication for fever? should he go back to emergency room . it is 10:45pm Sat. night.
