Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! I have been diagnosed with lymph node tuberculosis. I am afraid it is contagious. I have been taking the prescribed antibiotics for the last one month. I had a surgery done in my neck and the biopsy report showed positive signs of TB. Please help and let me know whether its contagious now or not?
Hi, I have gone through your question. I am a practicing anaesthesiologist and pain consultant. TB lymphadenitis is infection of lymph node due to tuberculous bacillus. Don't worry it's treatable, with antibiotics. TB lymphadenitis is not contagious unless you are in direct contact with it, or with direct contact of fluid coming out from that site. As long as you are not having active lung infection, cough, it's not contagious. Also as you have mentioned, you have completed one month of treatment, so it is unlikely to be contagious
