How Can Melanoma Be Treated?

Hello , I have been diagnosed with melanoma , i am 74 years old (male) i have diabetes , arthritis in my spine i have very bad vision and have frequent cramps. i have also prostate problems . i really dont want to go to surgery but the surgeon is encouraging me to do so . it is stage one and i really dont want to go through surgery . I feel fine otherwise and dont feel any symptoms of the melanoma . what should i do . cancer has only a 10 percent survival rate up to 5 years

Well, you should definitely for for surgery since this is the only chance for survival. Also, if there is metastases then chemotherapy maybe necessary after melanom is surgically treated. SO you need to follow doctor instructions. His is a minor surgery inmost cases and there is no some danger for you.
