How Can Meningitis Be Treated?

i took my 13 year old to the er last night thinking she may have meningitis they put her on an iv and tylenol to reduce her pain, aches, fever and head ache. they ran lots of blood tests as well as urine and flu swab.. atter hours and hours at the er, her headache was minimal and her fever reduced and all blood work, urine and flu was negative. they released her late last night. she is doing much better today but now complaining about a stiff neck and now developing a pink itchy rash on her lower back, ankles, knees and arms and elbows. the er doctor said it was a viral infection last night but now symptoms are evolving. what does she have

Hi,

The symptoms are typical of meningitis. Take her to a physician and get a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) done to confirm the diagnosis. An MRI scan is also required to rule out possible neurological causes.
