How Can Morphea Be Treated?

Hi I have glaucoma in my left eye and the ophthalmologist cannot get the pressure down in my eye. This has been going on since last September. He has tried all eye drops but without success. However in the past I have suffered with the skin complaint Morphoea. I have spoken to a dermatologist about this and been told that this can affect the eyes giving the same type of symptoms that I have. Could my eye problem be related to Morphoea?

hi, just gone through your question.
Yes, it may be possible that your eye problem and skin problem both are connected with each other.
Morphea is a form of scleroderma, a skin disease, and nearly 3% of morphea patient can have eye related problems. These eye problems are due to change in eye shape, connective tissue deposition.
Morphea can be treated but it can't be cured.
You can have options like,
1) Phototherapy with ultraviolet light
2) Steroids
3) Immunosuppressant
Consult good dermatologist and you can start the treatment
Glaucoma may require surgical attention
